The Artist

I'm Valerie and I'm 17 years old. After years of simply web-surfing, I found myself inspired to create my own website - which, in turn, led me to graphics design. I opened a very modest graphics portfolio on the 20th of December, 2005, under the name "Picture Me This". I've definitely made a lot of progress since then, though I still consider myself something like an amateur. ;)

Why "Opus 46"?

opus n. a creative work, especially a musical composition numbered to designate the order of a composer's works.
according to Dictionary.com

It all started with my love for the piano. I was just randomly thinking about different piano terms like "mezzo forte" and whatnot, and then remembered "opus". I thought, "Hey, that could work." The "46" comes from the fact that there were 46 creations in the portfolio at the time that I decided to change the name from "Picture Me This". So I suppose that technically, my site name refers specifically to the 46th graphic that I made. But I didn't really want to call my site "Opuses" or "Opera" because that's just kind of weird. And anyway, "Opus 46" has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
